Jamie & Matt

I often corner couples by asking them questions about their relationship such as what they thought when they first met each other, their first date, what their biggest dream together is. I love to hear the stories and I find it helps couples relax and forget about the camera and remember the person standing beside them, which is the most important thing that they can do.

This is Jamie & Matt. They had it easy. I didn’t pick on them too much because Jamie is my kid cousin and I already had a few details. But I like to hear both sides of the story. So I had Matt tell me how they met. When someone you love dearly, like your kid cousin, decides to get married you can’t help but worry. You want nothing but the best for loved ones and you wish from the very bottom of your heart that everything that they have ever hoped for will come to them. Don’t get me wrong – I’ve always adored Matt. He is hilarious and smart. Such an incredibly friendly guy, that from the very second you meet him you feel like you’ve known him for years.

And so while Matt told me how he met my cousin (Vegas – he crashed her birthday trip), what he thought when he first met her (Amazing), and how he asked her to spend the rest of her life with him (a slightly fumbled and yet entirely perfect proposal in the town where they first met), I stopped worrying.  I can’t remember the last time I saw Jamie smile so much

And just like that, the worry was gone.

  • Jamie & Matt | Engagement Photos Edmonton | Edmonton Wedding Photographer Blog - […] Jamie & Matt are two of my favourite people in the whole world. You might remember that Jamie is my cousin and Matt is her blue-eyed finacee and that would be why I’m such a fan of them. But those facts alone do not make a favourite. It is because Jamie is the sweetest person I have ever met. She always sees the best in everyone . And she has wicked amazing taste in boots. And Matt might love goat cheese more than me, which is a lot. Like A LOT. And he has been known to design awesome showers for his bathroom reno :) And they did so many things in their engagement photos that were completely them, which I love. They incorporated their ATV because quadding is something that they do together.  And soccer jerseys. And laughter. Lots of that :) […]ReplyCancel
